Scruffy hospitality means you’re not waiting for everything in your house to be in order before you host and serve friends in your home. Scruffy hospitality means you hunger more for good conversation and serving a simple meal of what you have, not what you don’t have. Scruffy hospitality means you’re more interested in quality conversation than the impression your home or lawn makes. If we only share meals with friends when we’re excellent, we aren’t truly sharing life together.
Our family would love to share our lake home with You! It is a real lake house that we use often. It’s not perfect, but it is comfortable and homey. You will feel like you’re staying with friends. Make yourself at home, and don’t hesitate to contact me if you need anything! <3
Your lake house is Waterfront, has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, lots of gravel parking (4-wheel drive vehicles), over an acre of yard that touches the lake in the back, access to our private dock, neighborhood beach, and neighborhood boat ramp less than .5 miles around the corner.
We love big dogs and families! We do ask that you treat them with flea&tick before you come. Be aware that they may bring fleas and ticks in with them after spending time in the yard. A recent application of flea&tick is very helpful. We do not treat the yard with pesticides.
We have mowed the back yard, but the front and sides are not mowed (on purpose). We have planted wildflowers and plan to have flowering fields out front. There is a compost bin just beyond the fence for your fruit & veggie scraps!
We have tried to include a lot of the imperfections of the house in the pictures. We are not wealthy. We’re just normal folks looking to share our little slice of happiness with you. If you’re looking for the comforts of home in an amazing location, you’ve found it! If you’re looking for perfection, this is not the place for you :).
Please note that the army corps of engineers controls the lake level as best they can. During heavy rains, the lake can flood, and during droughts the lake may be low.

House is not baby-proofed. Please bring baby-proofing things like outlet covers, etc.
